This year was my second New York Fashion Week, and it was just as magical as my last year! I’m leaving The City with huge goals for this next year and a full heart, not to mention LOADS of style inspiration for spring / summer 2019. (Side note: I’m actually LOVING the new trends coming in next season … lots of sheer, fun (unique) sleeves, tweed, pastels, ruffles, fringe, monochromatic, neon, and all things hat/head scarf related)
Since NYFW is such an incredibly busy, chaotic time, it’s hard to share every little detail or every single link to outfits during my time in the Big City, so I wanted to take the opportunity to recap all things Fashion Week 2018 in this post, including all my outfit details (+ links to shop), all the shows & events I attended, memories that were made with friends from all over the country and trends that I saw on the runways for the upcoming seasons. I hope you’ll find this post helpful, entertaining and inspiring! As always, if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask. I took video of all of the shows, and of course wanted to share all of the final walks with you all and they won’t convert here. So I hope you were all able to follow my stories while I was in NYC. I will do another recap on stories in the coming days!
Day 1 #NYFW I had an early morning meeting with the amazing ladies at Alison Brod MC. ABMC is the top PR company who works with both brands and influencers/bloggers, so I was truly humbled to meet them face to face and chat about the future / how we can best support each other. They’re constantly setting up collaborations and sending a lot of those ‘PR packages’ that you see so many bloggers opening on their IG stories each week. The best part of all is that they only work with the brands that we all know and LOVE (which makes it possible for me to be able to work with them since I will only ever agree to collaborate with brands I already use myself). We’re talking Clarisonic, Huda Beauty, Kerastase ,L’Oréal, Urban Decay etc. I was so excited the girls even packed a tote full of new products for me to try and review for you all!
I try to test out every product that is sent to me, but since I can’t possibly use everything (and don’t want anything to go to waste), I plan to start giving it back to you all! l
The women at Alison Brod are just absolutely incredible at what they do, and they’re so sweet and generous! Not to mention, their office looks is like a giant Disney Land for bloggers! I seriously felt like I walked into candy land. If Nursing doesn’t work out for me and I never make it to being a full time blogger I am totally applying to ABMC! This (clearly) was one of my favorite appointments of my entire trip. I was so excited the girls were so accommodating of me bringing my girl Paige with me this year.
Day 2 #NYFWWe started by getting glammed and prepped for our shows and events! It was so exciting to run into people I follow and have stalked for so long and now I get to meet them and become real life friends!
We had planned on getting up early and sight seeing or getting pictures for the gram, and that didn’t happen. We went to the NOLCHA shows, Aranyani lifestyles, Kaven Liu Dimor
After attending the @nolchashows shows and going to the Affaire show we (the group of blogger babes) all went to dinner @bond45nyc and did just that!! Bonded and now my #instagram friends are my real life friends!! Be sure to check out my insta stories for the daily activities!
Day 3 of #NYFWWe woke up had mimosas in bed all while planning out our day full of shows. The thing I have learned is if you have a show every hour to go to, you will not make them!! You just pitch your little hinnie off- you get a list of shows and then you get to chose which ones you want to attend! The beauty of it all is being Invited to more than one, you always have a show to fall back on!!
@paigecuomo and I attended @kuho_officialpresentation, which was stunning I want everything from this designer!! The plaid mules were amazing!! We had h’oeuvres that were delicious small grilled cheese, tuna tar tar, bomb fried cauliflower and enough bubbly to serve the entire Empire State!! After the show we walked to the Jasmine show and ran into some of our blogger babes.
From Jasmine we went to @pier59studios to have lunch then attend our next show!
The Oxford shows were amazing!! I ran into my blogger babe @courteink and enjoyed the shows from the front row!! Thanks girl so much! 😘
We went to @shein pop up!! The clothes were so pick through by the time we got there, so I purchased a cute tank that I will feature soon!! I had a blast there.. the live DJ playing was awesome!!
We then went to @ideacoffeenyc to grab a quick tea in an amazing light bulb! Honestly the coolest coffee place ever!! I love the light bulb glass!!
After our drink we went back to the hotel to change then walked to @tavolaitaliandiningwhere we had the most amazing Italian food! I had the spinach linguini with chicken meatballs!! It was on point!
Day 4 of #NYFWWake up and smell the rain! Day four at #NYFW was one rainy day! But my girl and I didn’t let the rain stop us from making our way around the city. I had such a great time seeing the bridge and snapping photos on and off the bridge, I have so many ideas that I need to come back to NYC just for a photo shoot!
After the show, we tackled the city’s sights! The rain didn’t stop us. I carried a small suitcase and changed outfits to take pictures at all of the different sights. Next year, I plan to hire a photographer. 📸
Washington Square The best pizza I think I have ever had! ( I used to love pizza, but now most give me heart burn.. this kind did not) Black Tap is my favorite place to eat at every time I am in NYC Having fun in the 29 Rooms by Refinery 29
9/11 is so powerful! This was my first time attending, and I never knew I would have so much emotion consume me! I cried like a baby! I am so proud of our country and I will #neverforget. I thank all of the men and women that sacrificed their lives for all of ours. #911memorial 🇺🇸
I am so happy and so glad I was able to attend NYFW this year! I am so glad I was able to meet Paige at my SC conference in April while we were in North Carolina. The blogging world has opened up amazing opportunities as well as amazing relationships! I am forever grateful for all of the beautiful people I have met in my 2 years of blogging and in my experiences at NYFW. I cant wait to go back next year and meet even more blogger babes as well as make more connections personally as well as business contacts.
